Powerzone has long since been the forefather of online South African Music news. In the ten years that the website has been running it has ensured complete coverage of all the major festival including photos and videos, daily news on small and large local and international bands as well as an MP3 download chart that receives in excess of a thousand downloads a day. Starting as a relatively small website of links it has since grown to include over 60 000 photos, 100 000 archived news items, over 1000 listed South African bands, a dance section, as well as a busy classifieds for band members to advertise anything from gear to themselves.
And it is still growing.
Over 80 000 unique users log in to read about the goings on in the local music scene, see who is playing where in the gig guide and read about their favourite band in the band guide each month. Bands are able to access their own pages on the site and update them with information and tours as well as mail out from their very own fan club.
